Ryusan-ji Temple
Ryusan-ji Temple is a Buddhist temple that was built back during the Edo Period (1603-1868). The original temple burned down in 1965, but it was rebuilt soon after, and this building is what currently stands here today.
During World War II, a single bomb was dropped on the grounds of this temple. You can still observe the remnants of this bomb crater today.
The statue of Daikokuten, one of Japan’s seven gods of fortune, also sits here, making it a popular stop for visitors completing the Nagareyama Shichifukujin stamp booklet. |
